About Hanukkah festival:
This festival can be spelled as Hanukkah, Chanukah, or Chanukkah. It is the festival of lights celebrated by Jews, the word Hanukkah means dedication in Hebrew language. This festival is celebrated as victory of justice against the darkness, the rebellion of Mecebees revolt against syrians and a miracle event of menorah which lightened up the 2nd holy temple in Jerusalem for eight days with only oil available for one day.
Things happening during the festival:
This festival is one of the important festivals of Jewish people, nine candles menorah is lightened every night of this festival. Hanukkah is celebrated in the months of November and December, in 2021 this festival is going to be celebrated at the evening of 28 November and will end on 6 December. Holiday of 8 days is announced many children's are presented with gifts during this festivals. On the 1st day prayers are prayed using dreidels and most of the traditional songs are sung. The best way of saying "Happy Hanukkah" is by saying "Hanukkah sameach" or smiply "Chag Sameach" to express your greetings towards this festival.
Food presented during Hanukkah:
Food items presented during Hanukkah includes:
•Latkes.
This dish consists of sweet potatoes crushed and mixed with onion to make a delicious mixture and coated with a batter of egg and flour deep fried in oil to give it a crunch.
•Beef brisket.
This dish consist of beef which is a cut of meat from lower chest of beef slowly cooked braised, and roasted and added with vegetables and sauces to give it a flavour and cutted into bread slices to serve.
•Roasted chicken.
This dish is served as alternative to the beef dish, it consists of chicken marinated with spices then covered with batter baked, cooked or deep fried and then served with seasoning and vegetables.
•Kugel.
This dish is a sweet dish which consists of egg noodles, sour cream and cottage cheses inside the batter and then baked, for more sweetness vanilla and resins are also added to improve the taste of this dish.
•Matzoball soup.
This soup consists of metzo meal ball which is bade of bread egg and water and the mixture of various spices to make it tasty dumplings and then poured into a plain chicken soup.
•Rugelach.
This dish is like a dessert after a meat meal, it is a pastery which consists of sweet filling of resins, chocolate and fruit preserves, walnut,which creates a mouth watering with its delicious taste.
•Sufganiot (jelly filled donuts).
This is a sweet dish, which is jelly filled donuts also containing cheese or custard coated with a batter of flour and egg and then deep fried then coated with powdered sugar giving it a delicious look and taste.
•Challah.
It is a bread made from yeast, egg oil sugar and salt, after backing it is seasoned with seasame seeds to give it a delicious look, the leftovers of challas are used to make toast.
•Hanukkah gelt (chocolate coins).
These are also given as gifts to children's and also used as money while playing the games of dreidel.
•knish.
It is a snack much popular in Jewish people, it consists of sweet potato, beans and spinach mixture with various spices such as onion powder etc filled inside a dough made of egg, flour and water. This treat is a flavourous snack.
Methods to earn during Hanukkah:
• As many food items are served one can earn by cooking such items during eight days.
• Candle making can be florished well during these days.
• Many people might love to travel historical and traditional places so transportation can be a one way to earn.
• Many toys and gifts are been presented during these days so if one is thinking about it mostly dreidles are in great demand during these days.
•Making menorah can be a profitable idea as many Jewish people need the nine branches menorah to light their candles.
